Dec 6th: Curiosity - It’s a virtue!
The sixth day of The Refinement Club’s Advent calendar (Sorry about the delay, but yesterday Tumblr was down and we wasn’t able to post anything.) features Paul van Brunschot’s idea about curiosity.
The problem:
Schools educate our children to be incurious. Children are supposed to memorize ”correct” answers and are not supposed to question them. Children are brought up to believe that curiosity is something you should grow out of. A major mistake, if you ask me.
The idea:
Make curiosity a mandatory subject at high-schools. Make children truly understand the creative power of questioning, in order to raise a problem-solving generation that feels comfortable with thinking different. A generation that we now need more than ever before.
