Dec 14th: Power to the Consumer!

The fourteenth day of The Refinement Club’s Advent calendar features Doffen Trellevik’s idea on how to make the consumers even more powerful. Enjoy!

Problem:
In 2010 it should be obvious that the consumer perception should be in the core of every consumer-driven company. But still consumers constantly experience bad service and unacceptable behavior from companies that fail to deliver what they are paid for. Simply because its more profitable to loose one customer then to clean up the mess.

Despite all the online feedback sites that exist, you should be pretty motivated to start shit talking a company on more than one online arena. And at least to do it in a relevant way.

Idea:
Payback.com is a tool that makes this easier. Simply chose how you want to get even with a company, and the sites generates a bunch of pre produced “online smear-campaign” for you.

Choose a passive strategy and the sites generates pre-written feedbacks, which are published on hundreds of different online arenas.

Or a more aggressive strategy where the site helps you with every thing from purchasing Google ad words, sending out press releases to attack the companies twitter or facebook reputation, all with just one click.

The consumer possibilities are endless and already existing, payback.com just makes them more accessible.

So you can prevent other consumers from a company which doesn’t know how to treat their costumers.

My name is Doffen Trellevik, I’m a former Westerdals student. I recently did internship at CP+B in Boulder. I’m currently in Norway waiting for my visa to get approved, before I head over to New York to start working as an Art director in Leo Burnetts Energy pool. I’m addicted to advertising, even though I believe it is like selling my soul to the Devil.

Would you like to submit your own idea to our calendar? Go ahead!
