Dec 24th: Managing your web apps
Today it’s Christmas eve, and this is the end of our Advent Calendar. For this idea we were joined by Daniel Engebretsen who presented a problem and an idea.
Problem:
There are so many cool and useful web services out there, but it’s easy to forget that you have them.
Solution:
Some sort of dashboard widget for your computer, a toolbox, where you can collect these services. By automatically searching through your mail, it can find services you’ve signed up for and ask if you would like to add these to your tool box. It can also search your itunes account to see what sorts of apps you’ve purchased and suggest services that you might find interesting. The tool box clusters the services that are similar and helps you get the most out of them. It can also suggest services to use, based on the applications you launch, e.g if you launch Word it can suggest you use Evernote instead, or if you’re about to invite someone to a google cal event, it can suggest you use tungle instead. The point is that we know there’s a lot of smart stuff out there, and we’re really good at signing up for them, but maybe not so good at using them.
So that was all folks! This was a lot of fun, thanks to all of you who shared your ideas with us!
We liked it so much we want to start having Feature Fridays, so keep submitting your ideas! Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year from Gro and Johannes.
