Pitch Night v.02: What comes after online dating?
On Tuesday we arranged our second Pitch Night and the theme was “What comes after online dating”. It was a lot of fun. We started out with getting some input from two guys who work for a Norwegian online dating service called Sukker.no, who talked about online dating in general and provided us with some facts and figures. Then we took some time to ask questions and discuss before we split up into groups.
The groups came up with several different directions which we sharpened together, and we ended up working on four different directions. Here’s a quick presentation of what we talked about:
Segmentation

This group went in the direction of refining online dating in a way that could help daters be more successful in their pursuit of a partner, by using statistics and the knowledge the service can acquire about what works and doesn’t work.
Serendipity

This group focused on finding solutions that would help people have more succesful random meetings by using the information the dating service have, and mixing it up with other services/ technologies.
Left over/ No match

Dating sites focus on finding your best match, this group wanted to explore two other options, the mismatch and the last minute situation.
Digital matchcard/ geo-location

Now a days we bring the internet with us in our pockets, and this group brought the online dating experience into “real life” by combining the information from the dating service together with geo-location.
We’re gonna work on making a proper presentation of the ideas that came up for next week’s post, and we’d really appreciate if you would like to join the discussion on our Facebook page!
